What are your personal origins – how did you come to reside in your current location?
Lived in Dorchester all my life.
Why did you become a veterinary nurse?
I want to be a veterinary nurse because I am passionate about animals and care about their welfare. I was inspired by my mum who has been a qualified veterinary nurse and is definitely where my passion for animals comes from.
How did you become a veterinary nurse?
Studied animal care level 3 at Bicton college, previously worked at Taylors RSPCA in Dorchester for 3 years where I was involved in rehoming and caring for cats and small animals.
What do you actually do as a veterinary nurse?
I am particularly interested in behaviour and when I am qualified I would like to look into that further, I am also very interested in dealing with the wildlife casualties that are brought into the surgery by the public and enjoy caring for them before they are rehabilitated
Tell us about your pets. What are their names, ages, histories and personalities?
I have a house full of animals… I have 2 golden retrievers called ruby (12yrs) and summer (6 yrs), a Rottweiler cross called Luna (8 months) and a border terrier called willow (13yrs). I also have 6 re-homed gerbils, 2 crested geckos called Esmerelda and Phoebus and 8 very naughty rabbits… that’s what you get for working at an RSPCA rescue centre.
What are your personal interests and achievements?
I enjoy spoiling all my bunnies with various toys and enrichment, I am passionate about the welfare of animals inside and outside of the UK and have visited Africa twice to complete conservation work on current projects and went on safari. I am currently studying hard for college and cannot wait to be qualified!!
