What is your position within the surgery?
Veterinary Surgeon

How did you come to reside in Dorset?
I was born in London, and undertook my training in Liverpool. I chose to relocate to Dorset after watching Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s River Cottage!

How did you become a veterinarian?
I worked towards becoming a vet from 14 years old through work in animal shelters, wildlife hospitals and vet practices. I trained in Liverpool for 5 years and qualified in 2012 with distinction.

What do you actually do as a veterinarian and why you are passionate about these interests?
I enjoy treating dogs, cats, rabbits and other small mammals (and even one turkey). My particular area of interest is in feline medicine and I have further qualifications in this area. I am fascinated by feline behaviour and as such have undertaken additional learning in this area.

Tell us about your pets. What are their names, ages, histories and personalities?
I have two cats, brother and sister called Waldo and Nala whom I hand reared from 2 weeks old. Sadly my cats are happier living separately and as such I have an upstairs cat and a downstairs cat! As they were hand reared they firmly believe that my food is their food, a notion I strongly object to and battle against daily.

I have two bunnies; Nova and Socrates who are a bonded pair. Socrates is shy but placcid and Nova is a cheeky monkey. They use the large hutch I made them only as toilet and to sleep underneath rather than inside.

What are your personal interests, and achievements (inspirations, passions)?
Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors and love anything to do with nature or wildlife. I love anything crafty and have set up a monthly craft club with my friends.
