Sam Quartermaine

Sam has worked here at Dave Cumber Vets since 1996 when she started as an Animal Care student. She then qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2000 when she also became Head Nurse. After having 2 children, Sam went on to study in her area of interest, anaesthesia and gained her certificate in 2015. In the 27 years Sam has worked here she has loved seeing and being a big part of the continuing evolvement of the practice. Seeing the standards of premises and what we can offer pets now to what we could offer or even knew about 27 years ago makes her so proud. Since the beginning of 2023 Sam has stepped away from the managerial role to go back into a more 'hands-on' clinical role where her passion for nursing lies.

After losing her staffy 'Star' this year, Sam fell in love with a 1.5year old, Romanian rescue dog 'Moose'. Having never lived in a house before, Moose is learning to enjoy home comforts (and not chew door frames!). He has settled in with Norah, a 3-legged cat and Sam's other cat Nelly as well as rabbits Peter & Poppet. Moose certainly put's a smile on everyones face here at the vets with his funny excited trot and loving personality.
